Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang Valley Trek is a charming trip that takes around 8 hours’ drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and runs through the beautiful and abundant Langtang Valley with panoramic views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal. Langtang is the convenient place to get the tremendous snow-capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. The Langtang valley is situated only 19 miles north from Kathmandu. The whole valley is ponopolized by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246 m/23766 ft) and attempts pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy lawn and meadows. From Syabrubesi, the lower region of the Langtang Valley we will follow the Langtang River to the east through small villages, farmlands and verdant forests until you get to Kyangin Gompa (3,049/10000 ft).   All the Villages on the way are occupied by Tamang people, especially Tibetans.The demonstration of craftsmanship, dress and stone-mud houses are so good of this ancient background. The people in this area have a culture, tradition and religion that have backed hundreds of years. The Buddhist culture is with a good scattering of prayer wheels, chortens, prayer flags and mani stones along the trails. In this valley, besides natural wonders then we will visit a local Tibetan village and their lifestyle. We will also get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m/14268 ft), Tserko Ri(5000m/16,404ft) for excellent sunrise views over the Langtang ranges.

Itineraries details:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
After arriving at the Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative from Leisure Aim Travels & Tours will pick up and transfer you to a hotel. In the evening, you will be served a special dinner which reverses Nepali food, culture and tradition. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 6-7 hours
Early in the morning, we will leave Kathmandu and drive towards Syabrubesi which is a small beautiful village and the starting point to trek into Langtang Valley. We have driven through the winding road and different switchbacks. We have a great opportunity to observe different beautiful mountain sight of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal. Overnight in Syabrubesi.

Day 03: Trek Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 5- 6 hours  After breakfast, our trek begins towards Lama Hotel along the Bhote Koshi River and follows Langtang River. The trail will go uphill through the oak and rhododendron forests and will have to climb an hour to reach Bamboo which lies at a height of 1850m (6,068ft), then crosses a subtropical forest, Red Panda, Langur monkey, wild boars and various birds in the forest to reach the Lama Hotel. . Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 04: Trek through Langtang village to Mundu (3543m/11,621ft) : 6-7 hours
Our trek begins with a gentle uphill climb through forest, with occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. Our trek becomes more interesting with the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela(3,000 m /9,842 ft) that emerges from the forest and the mountains overshadowed on either side of the valley. Then the trail follows to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders. We will see yaks grazing all over the pastures. The trails will pass a Buddhist monastery to reach the Langtang village but now that was affected by the earthquake of 2015. The trail just follows half an hour’s walk further on to the Mundu. Overnight stay in Mundu.

Day 05: Mundu to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 4-5 hours
From Mundu, the trail continuous moderately through yak pastures and the views become more extensive. The trails will pass the several small streams, moraines, water mills, prayer wheels, chortens to reach the settlement at Kyangjin where there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory which is a good place to take lunch and snacks. We will also cross the largest mani wall in Nepal which is made from stone. Kyangjin Gompa is the holy place of Buddhist. We will enjoy its surrounding areas with the amazing views of the mountains and hills. We will observe the images and idols of Buddha. Overnight stay in Mountain Lodge.

Day 06 : Acclimatization and explore Tserko Ri(5000m/16,404ft) 7-8 hours
Today we will explore around natural beauties of Kyanjin Gompa and hike to Tserko Ri (5000m) which will also help us acclimatize to the high altitude. We have visited the monastery, the cheese factory, and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung which offers amazing glacier. We will back to Kyanjin Gompa and overnight stay at there.

Day 07: Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel: 6-7 hours
From Kyangjin, we will backtrack to the Lama hotel. The route we followed up the valley, the Langtang Khola to Mundu village and on to Ghora Tabela. The descent will certainly be faster and easier than the ascent. We will continue the steep descent passing through forests and beautiful Tamang villages to Lama Hotel and overnight stay at there.

Day 08: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi: 4-5 hours
Continue retracing our steps to Syabru Besi with enjoying the quiet forest, hills and mountains. The trails to decent are quite easier. Overnight in Syabrubesi.

Day 09: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu
After breakfast we will drive back to Kathmandu through Pasang Lhamu Highway along the Trishuli riverside. We spend the rest day in shopping for your family and relatives. In the evening, you will get to share your experiences with your guides or friends for our successful trip in the Langtang. Overnight in Kathmandu hotel.

Day 10: Final departure
This is the last day in Nepal, the trips come to end. Our representatives will come to meet you at your hotel to drop off Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your flight to home. You will reach three hours before for your scheduled flight time.
