You’ll be picked up by one of our representatives and will be taken to your hotel. There after a delicious lunch you’ll be briefed about the things you can do in Kathmandu. Visiting the streets of Thamel is a good idea for the first day because you’ll already be tired from the flight. On this visit you can also walk around Basantapur Durbar Square as it’s nearby. The palace is famous for its religious, historical, and architectural significance. The palace is also a venue for various cultural events, ceremonies, and festivals. It is a terrific spot for you to relax after your busy flight.
In the evening you can grab a bite at the restaurants near the area and return to your hotel.
Kathmandu is rich is cultural heritage sites. In fact, seven of them have been listed in the UNESCO for preservation reasons. The sites include two Stupas, three Durbar Squares, and two temples.
Swayambhunath and Boudhanath Stupas are famous pilgrimage sites for both Buddhists and Hindus. The stupas are interesting buildings comprising a dome at the base that represents the world and Buddha’s eyes painted on a cube on top of it. You can see Buddha’s eyes painted on all four lateral faces of the cube. The stupas are symbols of enlightenment. In the region you can find prayer flags, prayer wheels, courtyards, and small stupas all dedicated to worshipping.
The Durbar Squares include the ones in Kathmandu (aka Basantapur Durbar Square), Patan, and Bhaktapur. These are palaces where the royal families who conquered Nepal lived. The buildings depict Newari architecture with pagoda roofs, intricate woodwork and stone carvings. Each of these squares are special in their own way. The two temples are sites for most religious activities. Pashupatinath Temple is where cremation ceremonies are performed along with other activities dedicated to Lord Shiva. Changu Narayan Temple situated at a hilltop is dedicated to Vishnu, one of the supreme beings in Hinduism.
The Everest Flight is a one hour flight that starts at 6 AM in the morning. On this flight you’ll be able to watch in close proximity from an airplane 20 high mountain peaks of the Himalayas. Mount Everest, highest peak in the world, stands at a height of 8848.86m and some of the other peaks like Cho-Oyu and Lhotse are also above 8000m.
After the mountain sightseeing, our journey to Pokhara begins. A tour guide will be with you and will help with any problem you face during your journey. Pokhara is a 30 minute flight from Kathmandu and it takes 7 hours if you want to take the road. Either way, you’ll get a lot from the experience. By road, you can observe the natural landscapes outside Kathmandu valley but reaching Pokhara by flight gives you more time to explore the city of lakes.
In the evening, you can stroll around Lakeside Pokhara. You can get scenic views of the lake with mesmerizing live music that sets a festive mood every night. The food is delicious. Whether you are craving international cuisines or authentic Nepali dishes, Lakeside restaurants have something to satisfy every palate.
There are plenty of adventures you can do in Pokhara. Paragliding is one of the most popular adventures that lets you view the city from high above. Hiking and trekking is also popular because the city is surrounded by hills and mountains. White-water rafting, zip-lining across lush forests, bungee jumping, mountain biking, ultralight flights, and canyoning are all activities for adrenaline junkies and nature lovers. The streets at Lakeside have numerous gift shops where you can buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Most of these items are unique and handcrafted by the locals.
